Expression of Support for Lynn Mellis Worthington for First Selectman
I have known Lynn Mellis Worthington for almost 30 years. I worked with her when we were both active responders of KVFD, she as a firefighter and I as an EMT. We also worked together closely at the Kent Historical Society. I know her husband, John, and her two daughters, Cassy and Trisha.
I support Lynn for the office of First Selectman for the following reasons. She is very intelligent, imaginative, technologically first-class, decisive and informed. Her years as a reporter for the Waterbury Republican-American has given Lynn not only a broad understanding of our issues, but also of our issues in the context of Connecticut’s issues. She is used to interviewing people and will, I believe, listen to and encourage discussion of our concerns. As a former teacher and administrator at South Kent School, she explained complicated ideas and had to both build consensus and make decisions.
I think Lynn is uniquely qualified to serve as Kent’s First Selectman, and I encourage you to vote for her on November 7.
Respectfully submitted,

Austi,
Thanks so much for endorsing me. We certainly do have a long history together. I remember working with you on the KVFD cookbook as a fundraiser and all those main dish recipes we had to type in and make sure were accurate. Good times!
